Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 22, 2012 12:35 pm Hi guys, I'm planning to do a demolition of my property in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. We got 2 comparable quotes, around 12K mark, 1 from State Demolition and another one from a local demolition contractor. The property is a single level fibro cottage, with asbestos of course, and a shed plus a couple of trees. I'd be interested to hear if any of you have had experience with State Demolition before making my final decision. Re: State Demolition Review 2May 24, 2012 7:59 pm Dont know this contractor but the #170dayHouse on my blog cost $ 12k to remove with $ 5 k asbestos. Quotes ranged up to $ 24k. I'm in the inner west and getting similar results for a similar house (although brick veneer). Try Democorp who seem quite professional. Re: State Demolition Review 5Nov 28, 2012 8:31 am Might be absolutely not a suitable idea for your plans/timeline or premises accessability etc, but just throwing it into the mix. We had a 2 bed fibro place we wanted gone, advertised it free in gumtree/tradingpost etc, eventually it was taken away on the back of a truck leaving us with vacant block. p.s. just realised how old this start date is, so my comment probably not relevant Re: State Demolition Review 8Nov 06, 2014 7:47 pm We used state demolition for our house knock down, we would NOT recommend using them. They were recommended to us, despite not being the cheapest, however after our experience with them we would NEVER recommend them to anyone. They damaged the council strip to the amount of $1500, broke the neighbours fence, left glass on the property, didn't remove everything they were supposed too, and didn't level the site. In relation to the damage, i was present when they did this. It was clearly done out of negligence. They had no care for the work they were doing. We paid $4000 to the council for the demolition bond, and we face not being able to get half of it back, until the damage is fixed. We've contacted the director of the company about the damage and still 3 weeks later we do not have a reply from him. DO NOT USE THEM! i thought the flipped plan initially but bec i want narrow pathway from entry to dining (dont like bend), also cannot fit the… 7 17261 It is true that a builder can ignore your independent inspection report as it is not part of the contractual arrangement but that is stupid because he cannot avoid fixing… 9 46845 The worst thing you can do is sign a building contract without a pre contract review. Over the years many people have come to me with disputes where they just signed… 0 8338 |
