Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Building brokers/agents 2May 07, 2012 5:59 pm I don't know about any building broker or agent to assist you but you have the following choices: 1 Project manager- engage someone to manage your project , but that could be quite expensive. 2 Independent inspections, you only get them a t critical points during construction, still expensive but could save you from blunders. Do your research and look for qualification and experience from start to finish (high level of technical knowledge, building surveying qualifications and extensive experience is a must) and also if they are prepared to go all the way to VCAT etc if you do hit the rocks. More than half of independent inspectors don't put forward their qualifications because they don't have any and may not have professional indemnity insurance.
