Browse Forums General Discussion Re: HIA Home Ideas Show 2008 - Free Double Passes (Melbourne) 102Mar 27, 2008 3:09 pm I just got back from going to it today and to be honest I was disappointed with the show. There's alot of stuff that really doesn't have much to do with home building, renovating or decorating. Some of the kitchen and bathroom displays are nice but nothing you haven't seen before. The clipsal stand had these ultra modern glass panel switches which were very nice (also came in black). Lots of granite, ceaser / essa stone on display. Kleenmaid seem to be popular but I think people were hanging around for the free food.
Highlight of the day was seeing gabriel gaté (spelling?)....much shorter than I expected. Re: HIA Home Ideas Show 2008 - Free Double Passes (Melbourne) 105Mar 29, 2008 11:00 pm We went late in the afternoon today and love it!
We ended up putting a deposit for a Novara 'Silvan' Extension dining table with 8 chairs upholstered in leather. We've been looking for very nice dining table/chairs and as soon as we saw it, we knew that that was it! It's also made in Australia - love it! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Re: HIA Home Ideas Show 2008 - Free Double Passes (Melbourne) 108Mar 31, 2008 12:47 pm Thanks for the tickets Jason, we had a great time at the Home Show on Saturday arvo... (It's amazing just who you can randomly run into there... )
Anyway, we picked up HEAPS of info and ideas...much to my husbands dismay!!! Even did some marketing for Homeone. I picked up a copy of a new program similar to My Virtual Home....called The Virtual Decorator (for free)....lovely man he was....and hopefully we might be able to benefit from a special offer on here for our members???? But more on that later i hope??? We also found some fantastic new products coming out which we just LOVED...and some things we just couldn't wait to get (and they weren't for sale at the show), so we dropping into Bunnings on the way home and bought them anyway... What am i talking about? I'll post all about them soon. Thanks Jason....we had a ball !!!! Re: HIA Home Ideas Show 2008 - Free Double Passes (Melbourne) 109Mar 31, 2008 1:14 pm Thanks for the tickets.
We went Saturday and enjoyed it allthough my feet were sore by the end. I loved the food processor where you can put everything in including apple core, peel etc. And it made hot soup in 5 minutes. I was impressed. I thought the Spas were lovely - the one with the TV was my fav. I got sucked into buying the huge shammy's - soak up anything!! The mop thing - still not sure about that one but it's good for dog hair apparently lol. I wish I could have brought the food processor but a measly $850 it was out of my range. Re: HIA Home Ideas Show 2008 - Free Double Passes (Melbourne) 110Mar 31, 2008 7:45 pm Thank you from me and hubby too for the tickets. I went on Friday and hubby went on Sunday it was easier that way - I did the ground work and then he went to get details, and probably look at things I didn't want to !
It was great, I can't believe I made it through the whole thing, 7.5 months pregnant and all. Parking was a bit of a rip-off though! $15 for just over 2 hours... thanks again donuts Re: HIA Home Ideas Show 2008 - Free Double Passes (Melbourne) 111Mar 31, 2008 7:47 pm That's why I parked at Crown and walked across. The HIA Home Show web site today says yes, but this forum says no.
