Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 02, 2012 10:39 pm Hello. I'm looking at getting someone to build to lockup with render my new home in ICF e.g. Zego, Thermacell, etc (have planning approval). I can do the fit outs myself having renovated houses in the past. I just don't want to deal with getting the house to the lockup stage (demolilish old house, dig footings, pour footings, erect walls, add roof, render exterior etc) and would rather outsource that. I'd rather stick with what I can do myself, plaster, floor boards, bathrooms, kitchens. Does anybody know builders that do to lockup in ICF ? What has been people's experience with the different systems Zego, Thermacell, Formcraft, Ecoblock, Polyform. It's double storey with balcony and the ICF with concrete and steel reo would make the cantilever much easier, besides the speed of the build and thermal qualities. The Talkingdog A talking dog, don't worry what it's saying, it's amazing it can even speak. Re: want to build new home in ICF Zego, Thermacell or simila 2Jul 28, 2013 2:54 pm Hi I wondered if you already finished your house and if you went ahead with ICF? If so, which supplier, and what's you experience? I'm outweighing Timbercrete vs ICF. As for material think Timbercrete is the better one (not saying that icf is bad or so!), but find it easier to find ICF builders (Melbourne), so'll probably end up with an icf based home... Good questions but the best answer will be obtained by visiting (ie: interviewing) a couple of house designers and/or builders and ask them. You may find it challenging to… 2 3205 I would be wary. Is you site demilished but nothing else done? Sounds like liquidity problems to me. Our builder did the same. Got hundreds of thousands of dollars of… 2 15350 Sounds like rubbish to me. Ask for the contamination report which I doubt they have. If it's part of a normal subdivision it would have had a contamination report done… 9 5635 |
