Hi everyone,
Hubby and I are finally ready to approach the banks for a loan.
Now, we have a few questions as to the order of doing so.
We have found a kit home (complete to lock up stage), need to find a builder and a loan.
Now, I feel we're in a triangle... We can't approach the bank without knowing how much we need.
We can't approach the builder without plans and we can't just buy the Kit Home.
Where do I go first? (We got a price on the kit and pictures and floor plans for the standard which will be modified slightly.
Could someone please tell us where to go first?
Also, we would like a builder to build the house to lock up stage and take over from there as hubby is a
tradie and we would like to do the inside ourselves.
Now, is it possible to get 2 quotes from a builder - 1 quote for the bank with a price for the entire job (ready to move in) and 1 quote for my husband and me build to lock up stage.
We need to ensure that we get a proper quote to receive all the money needed.
Not sure if builders usually do this or what the general go is. I've heard that it's difficult to get a loan for only half-done jobs.
Thank you in advance!
Kind regards,
Mel
