Hi Lori
I have never met a person who hasn't done a wrong thing knowingly at some point in their life(including myself) and it you are honest enough you will admit to it too. But that's OK, we regret it , make amends and move on.
But there is another type of doing the wrong thing, doing it for a living to make or save money or not to care.
What about builders who consistently and knowingly short change or rip off owners, trades who tell you job is finished and want to get paid whilst they know it's not, or know it's defective and just don't care, owners who want something from builders knowing they have not paid for it,( do you know a cheap but good renderer? whilst knowing what they want is impossible and incompatible with reality but they don't care). I see all this every week. and owners ripping off termite treatment notices because they don't want you to know they had a termite hit( even though a person crawling under a floor may become exposed to chemicals unknowingly) The forum is also full of such people and yes there are thousands of illegal structures in Melbourne (I find them every week on my inspections) done by people morally righteous.
In my view this kind of doing the wrong thing is far worse (because it is a way of life for some) than whatever Christina has done, at least she cares for her family (a redeeming feature), no such redemption for others as described above because it is all about selfishness.
Yes it is frustrating Lori not getting what you want and having to compromise and go to lengths to comply. But Christina was not whinging about laminex bench tops when she wanted stone, in case you missed it her plight is on the level of family unit survival not choice.
For once I agree with akashra, yes he is lost but don't look for a helping hand of redemption from me.
