Hi,
can someone tell me what the australian standard is for distance between adjoining sides of roof tiles in a valley
im a home owner who just had his roof replaced (concrete tiles) and one of the valleys appears to be wider than previous; and wider than the neighbours. however the roofer has said it meets australian standards. but i need confirmation
ive tried googling and the closet ive come to a figure is from the Boral.com.au website:
http://www.boral.com.au/rooftiles/roofs ... ystems.pdf
on pg 88/130:
6.3.1 Under normal conditions a gap of 100 mm between tiles is
acceptable.
6.3.2 In high rainfall areas the valley tiles can be bedded and pointed or
sealed with a sealant strip and the gap between the cut tiles may be
increased up to 150 mm.
i live in inner west Sydney and wouldnt think i fall under an area designated as 'high rainfall'
can someone please confirm, or better still, refer me to some documentation from an industry body so i can take this up with the roofer
thanks!
Ben
