Nail pops and screw pops are covered by Porter Davis for 24months. Your painter would be able to repair these prior to painting. If you'd like to chat to someone at Porter Davis about this, feel free to call the New Home Care team on 1300 744 833. I hope this helps. Cheers, Ebony Porter Davis Homes Questions? Some of which are walking inside the roof cavity and the other incorrect installation. The incorrect installation may be the result of a tradie taking their time to install the plaster board after they have applied the adhesive. What results is the adhesive developing a "skin" and not providing a good enough bond between the plaster board and truss. Considering screws alone are not enough to hold the structure, the plaster board tends to "pop" through the board over time. Your ceiling has lasted pretty good to only start popping after 4 years. Recommended fix, screw an additional screw between the current popped screws and a few more for good luck, replaster and paint over. I have read on the *** that as a safe guard it’s also recommended to do the same regarding adding extra screws to other rooms especially in bedrooms (regardless of popping or no popping). Is it a circular indent in the roof like this? http://www.diychatroom.com/f101/drywall ... ng-138065/ Metricon Riva 33 - http://herlihy-riva.blogspot.com Site start 15/03/2010 - Handover 23/12/2010 9 months and 8 days (284 calendar days) from site start to handover Re: Porter Davis home - Ceiling screws popping through 5Apr 11, 2012 3:07 pm +1 with Adam as far as fixing, only thing i'll add is try to remove the screws that have popped before plastering. You should be able to get the plaster out of the end with a screwdriver. If you can't get them out a firm tap with a hammer will do the trick. Adam as far as i'm aware no one has been up in the roof so i'd have to go with incorrect installation especially considering where some of the screws are popping out. Btherl - yes some do look like the pictures in the link and others are no so obvious especially where there is a circular indent around the screw about 10cm in diameter. Looks like we will be putting in a few more screws before we repaint. Cheers, Paul Ain't that the truth! We used to have a tile roof and had it replaced with colorbond and suddenly everything throughout the entire house sounds louder! 4 6706 Sam There is a much stronger glue than liquid nails. It's called T Rex and will stick your timber to the concrete. Cheers Simeon 1 1557 |
