Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 15, 2012 12:23 am Hiya, i hope i'm not breaking the rules of this forum and my intention is not to spam or advertise here but i need a little help. My wife is (i think) very talented when it comes to colour planning and decorative painting. I think she would secretly like to start a business doing small painting jobs for things like Children's rooms, feature walls and that kind of thing. She has added some interesting splashes of colour to our home over the last few weeks (i'll try to post some pics soon). Now these aren't anything mega fancy just some shapes, stripes etc but they are very striking and make a huge difference. I don't want to post my location in QLD (for now at least!) but do you think there would be much call for a "female" painter/decorator? I'm not wanting to be sexist but if you think about decorators, they are always paint splashed blokes in overalls. Are there any women out there who have been put off by the thought of a man in the house and would rather a woman could come and do some painting around the house? Once again, i am not touting for business. Just trying to gauge opinion. If any of the site moderators out there feel that this breaks the rules and regs of the board then i apologise up front. Hope you can help. Thanks Bri Re: Can you please help me? 3Feb 16, 2012 12:55 pm There's nothing wrong with female painters - I work in real estate property managing, and I've found that the females tend to pay more attention to detail. The main thing is she needs to know what she's doing - there's a difference between painting a few decorations, and painting a whole house, or doing things like bathrooms etc. There's nothing worse then paying someone to paint your bathroom, then in 3 months time having the paint start cracking, peeling and flaking away. 2 10984 Hey everyone Not for me or anyone I know, just generally interested.
