Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jan 31, 2012 2:50 pm Hi I would love your opinion regarding outdoor blinds. My house doesn't have eaves and therefore the rain drop directly on the windows, so i am thinking to install outdoor blinds to lessen the impact the rain on the windows. I don't know much about outdoor blinds and the most popular outdoor blind at a moment is PVC/cafe blinds, however it doesn't fit my purpose as i use it for my bedroom window, not for alfreso.. I come across the Canvas Blinds and i think it is a good idea, but it is so expensive, i got quote for $1200 for 2 windows.. So my question is: - Does anyone know a cheap place for Canvas Blinds? - Also is Canvas the only option? When i go to the showroom they just show me the most expensive things, is there any outdoor blinds that you think it work well and not too expensive at all? Love your opinion... That quote sounds reasonable, remember for a cheap price you get a cheap product. The previous owners of my home had just installed new canvas blinds and after I had been here for about 10 years they started looking shabby, faded and the steel runners and head-boxes were starting to corrode, so I replaced them with powered roller shutters. They are a lot more expensive for a window 1200W x 2100H costs $1200ea but they are permanent. With the shutters down I can leave the windows open day and night, having the breeze and filtered light come through the small holes. Plus I get the better security. Arfur Re: Help please - Canvas Outdoor Blinds 3Feb 03, 2012 7:18 am I just installed a canvas awning blind on my kitchen window (except its not actually canvas, but a synthetic material that apparently holds up better to the weather). Anyway, I really like it - the kitchen window gets all of the afternoon sun and it makes a massive difference to the kitchen temperature. My window is about 2.8m x 1.2m and it cost $550 from a reputable company with a strong reputation (based in Rowville, Melbourne). PM me if you want the details.
