Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 10, 2006 12:45 pm Hi,
I am in the process of organising to have a colourbond garage/shed built in my backyard. The shed is 3.9m x 6.2m and will not have a roller door. It will sit on a 100mm reinforced slab. A couple of questions: 1. I have been told that it can only be built 15cm from the fence (boundary) or 1metre - nothing in between. I have the fence posts on my side so is that 15cm from the posts or 15 cm from the palings? 2. My block slants upwards from the front to the back. Does anyone know if it is acceptable to have the front of the slab sit out of the ground and the back sit flush with the ground in the rear. The property is situated in the Boroondara area in Melbourne. Any asistance provided would be greatly appreciated. The slab sits on concrete footings which are 300x300x300. The footings will sit in the ground and the good news is I (with the help of family members) do not have to dig and shift as much soil. Very much appreciate your assistance. If your neighbour surveys his land and finds that your garage is on his land, guess what? He's within his rights to claim it back! And I know of lots of *** fences that cross their boundary. I'd get the survey done - $500 well spent. DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Hi all I've got a brick garage/shed at the back of my house. It's been hit at some point (before I owned it) and has a large crack running down through the bricks.
