I recently had the interior painted - the painter did a good job However, the painter told me from the outset that the paint job would not include painting the actual windows. The wood sorrounding the window yes, but not the actual windows. The window frames are made from steel and are their paint is peeling. I asked the painter for a quote regarding the windows - he said that to polish and paint the steel windows, as well as to replace the flyscreen and winder would cost $340 per window. This would mean a total of $1020, as there are 3 windows in question - two bedrooms and the lounge. Note that the bedroom windows are large, over 2.2 meters in length. Question - is this a fair price? Question - is this a fair price? Sounds like fair price to me. I doubt you will find anyone who can do it cheaper. But it my personal opinion, if those are original steel windows from 50's, and if their paint is peeling, I would seriously consider replacing all the windows with modern ones. It wouldn't cost much more expensive than repaint old ones. But, since you already painted the interior it's probably too late now... Re: Is this a fair price to paint interior steel window? 3Jan 26, 2012 12:16 am Sounds like a good price for painting 3 window frames and windows including replacing the fly screen, general rule of thumb is to get 3 quotes. ps.. how long did he say it would take to complete?
