Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jan 17, 2012 2:56 pm Hey all This one has a bit of a twist though After walking around with a mental picture for quite some time my girlfriend and i walked into a display home at Homeworld 5 on the weekend and found exactly what we had been trying to find. After speaking with the salesman there he said to contact their interior designer who would more than happily tell us what colours were chosen. Well i contacted their office today and they wont tell me what they used. Sure, I know i am not building with them but i seriously had no idea other builders were so secretive about their selections. Our builder keeps no secrets at all so it came as a bit of a surprise. I could understand if it was something to do with the structure that was innovative, but its only a couple of colours lol Has anyone here been into the newly opened Huxley Home at Homeworld 5 (The Resort) that is able to shed some light on the colours they used? They have used quite a few really nice grey's which go together really well and arent over powering at all Alternatively is there somehere that may know someone at Huxley Homes, or that works at Huxley Homes, that could get the colours from them? I took some pictures which to my surprise i was told is fine, but they are on a phone so the colours would be a little off i guess. Given i have been told pictures are fine i might just duck down there with the digital SLR this weekend and take a few better snaps and post them up Can anyone help Brad I know, another thread about interior colour selections 2Jan 17, 2012 8:18 pm I had the same dilemma once, I called the sales office and told them I was calling on behalf of someone who was building with them, who was coming up to colour selections. They called me back at the end of the day with all the colours I wanted. Although I didn't end up using any of them Re: I know, another thread about interior colour selections 3Jan 18, 2012 7:15 am I would have done that if i knew they werent going to ask me who it was that was building with them You know what got me the most though, the fact i told the woman that i was lucky i took some pictures and she said photo's are fine. So its ok for me to steal all the home details and kitchen/bathroom designs, but they wont share the paint colour lol Hopefully my digital SLR can capture the colours properly as i am going to go back this weekend and get some better shots I know, another thread about interior colour selections 4Jan 18, 2012 1:06 pm I would call their head office and try again. Just don't tell them you aren't building with them. When I called I said I was calling for my parents so that if they asked for specifics of the build I could say I wasn't sure, I just told them a plan and location and that must have been believable enough Re: I know, another thread about interior colour selections 5Jan 19, 2012 12:18 am Most builders won't give out their colours to people who aren't building with them, not so much because they are secretive regarding the colours, but mainly because they would have to look the colours up which takes time, and most builders won't allow their staff to spend time on someone who isn't spending money with them. It may seem like only a 1 minute job, but it's generally not - I've worked for builders for years, when I was on the phones people would call and ask just for the render and gutter colour, so I used to be nice and get the file for that display home, look up the colours and tell the person what they were (against management rules)... but then they would say "can you also tell me the roof colour, the front door colour, the window frame colour, the paving colour, oh and while I've got you on the phone can you tell me the paint colour for that Theatre feature wall... oh an you know that other display home you have, can I just find out that render colour too". By that time you'd just lost 20 phone calls from real clients because you couldn't answer or they were on hold too long, and then end up getting reprimanded for not doing your job . It honestly did become too hard and made me realise why management had those rules, so after that every non-client that called for colours ended up getting turned down. Re: I know, another thread about interior colour selections 6Jan 19, 2012 7:19 am CA3105, i can appreciate that and agree it would be time consuming. The colour selection for us is at a point where i would happily pay them $50 to get the details to me and send it to me in the next few weeks. The house hasnt started to be built yet so i am in no major hurry. But its obviously not going to happen Its our first build and we have struggled with colour selection. You can look at all the magazines in the world and the sample pots end up different. To see it on a wall and be able to touch it, only to not find out what it is is just frustrating Hi, Apologies - I know there is plenty out there on this but struggling to put together the puzzle. We're planning our garage/external laundry to master bedroom and… 0 11096 How much are you ahead in payments compared to where the build is at? Have you fully drawn down the loan? 5 11893 I am looking for someone who might have tackled a similar issue as me. I have a few rendered interior walls, the surface condition is hardly flat. I can see all the bumps… 0 7951 |
