I'm itching to see the pics of the surfmist render, and it's not even my house!! I am getting half of the front elevation of my house done in Surfmist render, so I really can't wait to see what yours looks like Surfmist render, what are your thoughts? 22Feb 17, 2012 9:44 am Hey caz_770 I am still waiting on the render.
I reckon the surfmist will look classic, there is something about lighter coloured render that appeals to me Will post as soon render is done as I know it will help those who have picked surfmist render, seeing it and how it looks on a home is so much better than trying to Visualize it. Re: Surfmist render, what are your thoughts? 23Feb 17, 2012 10:29 am Totally agree with your chioce of going light BUT have you ever considered to then paint the render where the window is to be your first choice in colour western myall? I think it will go really well. We have dark brown bricks, monument garage door, front door, guttering etc, Dune cladding. No render ATM but we plan to reclad the cladding in timber and use dune and western myall in render. Absolutely another reason for going light was that it would be easier to change colour, if we went western myall it would of been harder to go lighter, so in a couple of years if we want to funk it up a bit we can do the render where the corner window is in A darker colour. I like versatility, for the moment surfmist will be my choice then I can play around with colour combos later Love your colour choices it will look amazing. Re: Surfmist render, what are your thoughts? 25Feb 20, 2012 8:19 pm Hi folks, Render was completed over the weekend! Here are some surfmist render pics, just normal strength. One thing I have learned, even from surfmist weatherboards is the colour does change quite a bit depending on the light. These pics taken this morning under cloud so I guess will be much lighter in sun. Note: the piers are Shale grey (we went c-bond colour happy, narrowed down the choices and made it a bit easier than the internals, which took forever to pick!) . Not really that pleased with grey and maybe should have gone darker but that's another story and off this topic! Hope this helps anyone that's interested in surfmist render Surfmist render, what are your thoughts? 26Feb 20, 2012 9:17 pm Omg I love it!!! It looks superb! Can't wait till mine is done. Thank you for posting this. I love it!!!! Re: Surfmist render, what are your thoughts? 27Feb 20, 2012 9:33 pm So glad you likey SN . Such a relief sometimes when you can see an actual building with your choices on it or in it (samples just don't cut it). I got the same feeling when I saw photos of the same cupboards and also a tile of mine over the last week in houses on here! Re: Surfmist render, what are your thoughts? 28Feb 21, 2012 10:07 am I love it ... the two colours go really well together ... very classy!! Surfmist is great - its sort of a white but without the glare that usually comes with it. Any chance of posting a pic on a sunny day as well, Mike? Classy looking on a shoestring budget Rudolf1980 Loving the surfmist and the shale grey Mike but understand what you mean about the contrast. Thanks Rudolph! We may contemplate a paint job later but have to say it is growing on me! kezacheekychicken Looking very much like how I was hoping it would look. It really is light without the glare factor . Promise I'll post a pic on a sunny day soon. Looking forward to seeing it (& how the contrast looks) on a sunny day myself! Re: Surfmist render, what are your thoughts? 32Feb 21, 2012 1:24 pm You can't rush these things in Waitingsville. "Whoever says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain!" Re: Surfmist render, what are your thoughts? 35Feb 24, 2012 7:06 pm As promised, here are some shots in the sun today. Got there around 4, so missed the front facade in full sun. Both pics give an indication of the difference in sun and shade. The rear balcony is really light on the side in sun, but balcony looks much darker next to in shade. Same deal with the side/ half front. As a side note, DW saw coloured render for the first time today and LOVED it!! Surfmist render, what are your thoughts? 36Feb 24, 2012 7:23 pm Yep love it!!! I have my pci on Thursday so render should be done by then, will take pics when done. Surfmist render, what are your thoughts? 37Feb 26, 2012 10:11 am My render is done but it's not surfmist they made a mistake and did it in the western myall. I changed the colours last December and signed the variation form, got approval from the estate, how can they make a mistake? Such a major mistake, Dh and I are so upset. The only way to fix this is by painting and that comes with problems as there is no guarantee that it will last, will most likely have to paint every couple of years as the charcoal Will show through. Re: Surfmist render, what are your thoughts? 38Feb 26, 2012 10:28 am Not sure what to say to make it better - western myall is a nice colour but I know not what you wanted How does it look?? Do you like it at all?? Re: Surfmist render, what are your thoughts? 40Feb 26, 2012 10:53 am On the first page of this thread you said you wish you could have 2 different render colours but they charged extra for that so maybe this is your chance to get your 2 colours. Don't paint all the render surfmist just the front portico or right hand side.... and if you have to repaint every few years at least you don't have to paint the whole lot!!! Also, I do think that your builder should be compensating you in some way for their stuff up!!! Have you spoken to them about it yet??? Dover white or surfmist garage door.
