The most common is the 6 star energy requirement and its the only way to get to it In my case I was 6.2 star with single glazed, I went double glazed because the windows look nicer (much nicer), I will save on heating/cooling, and you get a little more sound insulation in a double glazed window compared to single glazed. I paid more than 3K, I think if you did the calculations the money benefit would take quite a long time to work out. The bonaire website used to have a calculator for 3 star, 4 star and 5 star heating, the 5 star took nearly 10 years to pay off from memory over the 3 stars (I have no idea how accurate the calculation was, I would assume they would bias it towards the upgrade .
