Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jan 08, 2012 10:53 am Hey Everyone...! I'm trying to mount an indoors cloths line in the laundry... but studs are not matching the cloth line..... An idea is to fix a timber batten to the studs then the cloths line on the batten.. Not really liking the idea... Is there anything like fixing a small metal "thing" (which you can anything screw to) to the studs then fix the cloths line to it? thanks! Re: Studs not alligned...! 2Jan 09, 2012 12:36 pm The best option is to bolt both supports into studs. Failling that the batten option as you mentioned. Most probable option is to bolt one support into studs and the other use Ramset Wall Anchors (the larger sizes). I am assuming this is a small clothes line? Re: Studs not alligned...! 3Jan 11, 2012 12:41 pm Probably the only option is a board, a little wider than the clothesline mounts, spanning the studwork either side and attached with screws. Then attach the clothesline to the board DONT attempt to simply attach it to the plaster with wall anchors or it will tear out the wall. As I said, best option is both studs, followed by battens.
