I have a flood of questions and so glad there is a forum such as this to share and learn. for now, any help on the following would be much appreciated. - okay so we've got architectural plans, next step is to have them certified and then lodge them with council, right? - any ideas how long council takes to review/approve them? - external stairs - will we need a builder to build them and install them? or do we get a steel fabricator to create them as per our plans and then we install them ourselves? we would like to do as much of the build ourselves having a very handy husband and team of friends/father-in-law who are keen and expereinced doing decking, internal walls/plastering etc - anybody know costs for putting down a concrete slab - ie. comparison between having it done by professionals versus doing it ourselves? thanks in advance December 2011: plans drawn.
