Re: OK to remove hoop iron brace? 7Jan 02, 2012 6:49 am mgilla I would think the metal walls would act as a brace anyway, if they are screwed off well i'd just cut it out of the way. Dead right. The main purpose of the bracing is getting it all straight in the framing stage before the sheets of iron go on. Once the iron is on, the affect of the brace is counter actes with the sheets then taking over the bracing. You could simply cut that brace, put the window in, and not worry about re connecting the brace with any ill effect at all. Yes i guess this is one of the main reason as i checked one post foundation 4 9996 We have a Victorian style ripple iron fence out the front that has some moulded timber capping.
