Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Dec 18, 2011 2:46 pm Hello, I just had a look at the homes that Allam Property group are putting up at Woongarrah Waters. (you buy the house brand new, but they pick the house for the land and you buy it when it is done). Does anyone have any information on this company? (i looked online to find out some information about this company and I found there website (http://allam.com.au/ ), but I couldn't see any reviews/opinions from people who have purchased their homes) Does anyone experience/knowledge with/of this area? (Woongarrah and/or Hamlyn Terrace on the Central Coast) Things we should look for if we decide to buy a new home that is pre-built? (e.g. We would have to organise an electrician to come in after to put more powerpoints/telephone/tv ports in if we need them in specific rooms) The idea of not having to pay rent while waiting for a house to be built is nice (and being able to still get the free stamp duty for free and the first home buyers grant), but obviously I'd rather to find out more about this company first (I'd never heard of them until today). Re: Allam Property Group 2Dec 18, 2011 9:17 pm Can I get this right, they choose the house for you????? It would have to be of tremendous value or a design you love, or I'm afraid I know which direction I would be going!! At the moment, we live near where I work. My husband works and hour and a half away - so we are trying to get a little closer to his work (so we have around the same travel time). I did a search for them on H1, I got 3 hits, but it was just people mentioning that they had seen them, none from people who have chosen them. The idea of moving into a new house without having to pay a mortgage while they are building (and we are renting) is appealing. And the idea of having the house completely finished (including mailbox, fences, retaining walls, front and back turf, minor landscaping) is also appealing. But on the other hand - being able to customise a house (not only colours, but also the layout and alterations for the layout) for us to live in is also very appealing, however, things would be tight for the 10 months while they are building. Maybe its back to the drawing board with selecting a house and land package with a recognised building company? Re: Allam Property Group 6Dec 19, 2011 8:42 am Can see why some of those things are appealing to you and cutting down on travel time would be a huge bonus to your DH. Don't be put off by my comments if this type of package suits you and is what you can afford....what suits one person won't necessarily suit the next. Have you talked to your bank/credit union/building society? They might have some background info on this package. I just did a quick search and there are other builders with house and land packages but take note of the land size as one I just looked at was a very tiny block. I'm not suggesting you don't talk to AP just that you also look at other options and weigh up which one suits you. Sorry I'm not much help, while I'm reasonably familiar with the area I don't have anything to offer about builders. Good luck with whatever you decide...it's very exciting and stressful all at the same time. 4 14455 You might be able to apply to divert the sewer at your expense. In NSW you would contact a Water services co-ordinator and they would give you advice as to whether or not… 1 16146 Ask for some kickplate to be added and also for tradies to be requested to use lanyards on tools on that side of the building. Be respectful and have the discussion… 1 1690 |
