Hi its my first time in a forum so please bare with me. we are nearly at handover but have real concerns with what we thought would be our dream home. To start off with when our slab was poured we had massive down pours. we raised our concerns with the builer and once the slab was finally dry, it was like someone had poured talcum powder over the slab so they rectified the problem with chemicals and grinding the slab ( haha) anyway cut to the chase, we have had a inspector out to look at the property who noted that the cracks in the mortar were nothing to be concerned about as the builder would just gap them and the cracks in the bricks were from the kiln process ??? as they are a tumbled brick.
About 60% of the cornices have cracked and there is a crack down the wall in the ensuite ( where the plaster meets ) yes these are only slightly bigger than a hairline crack but should they be in there so soon?? also the tiles in the main living area have seperated from the wall ( at least 3mm so far ) and the mortar has dropped down to the slab. finally my partner pushed on the outside of the wall where we have the issue with the tiles and the whole wall moved. any help or advise with this would be greatly appreciated
