Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Dec 12, 2011 9:49 pm Hi all About to commence a new home build early next year. Trying to work out a colour scheme for the exterior. So far - we prefer - House walls to be a rendered finish - we would prefer a Sandstone colour, that's not too creamy/yellow- unsure of a specific colour. Roof in either Colourbond - Evening haze, Paperbark of Dune. Fascia, gutters and garage door for contrast in Colourbond Jasper. Any thoughts on this scheme.... finding it hard to settle on which colour for the roof, to give the best effect. Not too plain etc. Trying to choose a roof colour with reasonable thermal efficiency - ( keep in the LOW category as per BASIX classification on the Colourbond website) Do you think this will work ? Anyone's thoughts appreciated Settlement 1/2/12 New Shed 23/3/12 Slab poured 27/3/12 Frame complete 4/5/12 Roof complete 1/6/12 LOCKUP 29/6/12 Our new build blog http://kareenhillsownerbuild.blogspot.com/ Re: Help with exterior colour scheme - any suggestions pleas 2Dec 15, 2011 8:16 pm No one out there like or hate this scheme ?? We did a Dune rood with Jasper gutters, facias and downpipes and windows. A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ As said previously - thinking possibly of dune, paperbark or evening haze for roof A sandstone type/colour render -not too creamy/yellow and for contrast Jasper garage door, fascia, gutters etc Look forward to hearing any feedback Thanks Settlement 1/2/12 New Shed 23/3/12 Slab poured 27/3/12 Frame complete 4/5/12 Roof complete 1/6/12 LOCKUP 29/6/12 Our new build blog http://kareenhillsownerbuild.blogspot.com/ Re: Help with exterior colour scheme - any suggestions pleas 8Dec 17, 2011 8:45 am Your design has got good symmetry. I would start with picking a render colour first. Evening haze would not be a bad choice, or you could go with Stone, New england stone, Warm grey... to name a few. Surfmist or dune for roof, not paperbark. Then a stronger colour for gutters, fascia, posts to create contrast. Re: Help with exterior colour scheme - any suggestions pleas 9Dec 17, 2011 10:07 am If you are rendering the whole front, I would do a dark colour on the wall with the 2 windows and a lighter colour on the door and garage wall. Use the Jasper for garage, facia, gutters and downpipes. I would also do windows in jasper. My opinions only. A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands. This is the first stage. Second stage of the renovation will be to replace roof on… 0 1062 i had the my concreters concrete right up to the fence. I have pits all along my path, so the water tends to drain away from the house and into the pits. There's only one… 7 12719 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7149 |
