Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Dec 11, 2011 12:15 pm Hey Guys I'm posting here to give people the heads up about a company in the ACT who we have won a judgement against & then still wont "pay" up. W R Engineering were hired to build a car port at a property in Canberra, during the tribunal hearing they agreed they had installed the car port in the wrong place, sounds oh so trivial & boring doesnt it, that was the owners response !!! During the tribunal hearing they agreed to provide the paperwork that clearly indicated that they had used the 80% deposit, yes they required a 80% deposit to get the ACT govt. approvals. We have now discoverd that they are only legally allowed to charge a 10% deposit & that the approvals from the ACT government is in fact more like $1000 or less. During the tribunal hearing they agreed to provide all the outstanding paperwork for warrany etc. as well as approval, they have been paid the agree outstanding amount & now they are saying that because they have lost the file they cant confirm if the plan was approved or provide any paperwork. But the tribunal forced the payment from us before they provided any paperwork. So when 'Sales Mgr.' trys his oh so smooth sales pitch remember that he is doing what all politicions do, telling you what you want to hear. Well the wash up is that we may now need to have the car port demolised before we can get approval to have it re-erected !!! Now we need to organise the approvals, we are happy to pay !!! Anyone got any experience trying to get approval for a car port after it has been built in the ACT ??? NG Assuming you've modelled the TB8, TB10, TB12, TB2 & J1 joists/LVLs there, it appears as per drawing to me. There maybe should be an additional J1 between TB10 and T12 if… 3 31825 Thanks for all replies. I just noticed now the pictures I added to post right on top of page were wrong.
