Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Nov 21, 2011 10:29 am Our plan went to council a couple of weeks ago and we were just informed by council (via builder) that an Arborist report needed to be done to address the long term impact the proposed development plan (our new house) would have on a gum tree. The gum tree is on the edge of our land. To be more specific, we share the gum tree with our neighbour. Our current driveway is very narrow and we have to drive very careful to avoid hitting the gum tree. In our new plan, we did not propose to move the position of the driveway but we made it much wider so we have enough space to drive through and will not drive close to the tree. Our builder gave us a quote of $790 to do the Arborist report. Is this reasonable? Anyone can recommend any certificater who charges less? We can send pictures of the tree and also the development plan so that the certificater does not need to come to our place. I also have another question. If the report shows that building a new house will have impact on the gum tree, can we ask for removing the tree? Or we have to change our plan? Many thanks!!
