Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Nov 14, 2011 9:04 pm We have just purchased a second hand kitchen that we as the purchasers are responsible for removing. There is a kitchen island with a waterfall caesarstone bench (goes over benchtops to floor on both sides) that has a dishwasher and a sink installed. There is also another caesarstone bench with a cutout for a gas cooktop a glass splashback and cupboards at either end. We need to transport this 120klm. We would also be interested in a professional to remove the kitchen which is on the gold coast, depending on the cost. Otherwise we will be attempting to remove it ourselves. How can this be done without breaking the stone benches and cupboards. Raeaus Re: Removing a second hand kitchen for successful reinstalli 2Nov 15, 2011 10:39 am I am assuming it is a more modern kitchen made with 16mm melamine cupboards and snap on hinges for the doors. Without seeing any photos or you not providing any dimensions, it is hard to gauge how hard it would be to remove the benchtops ( which should be done first ). A carpenter or anyone with an electric screwdriver would be able to dismantle that kitchen in a few hours. Number the cupboards and doors then remove all the doors. See if the kickboard is a plinth style one or merely fixed to the cupboards plastic legs. If it is remove the kickboard or if it is a plinth style , leave it in place and remove the cupboards first. Each cupboard would have maybe two or three screws screwed to the neighbouring one and maybe one into the wall at the back. Undo those and they should all be easy to extract.
