I received three quotess from water proofing contractors. Prisewise they are almost the same, but two of them use bitumen based waterproofing materials, and the third one polyurethane one. Do you know which one is better in terms of waterproofing and durability ? Thank you Re: External brick wall waterproofing -bitumen or polyuretha 2Nov 03, 2011 11:25 pm Bitumen breaks down and is attacked by both fungi and bacteria over time. It can also harden somewhat rapidly in heat or frigid condition and become brittle. It also releases poly aromatic hydrocarbons for years. Re: External brick wall waterproofing -bitumen or polyuretha 6Nov 08, 2011 3:47 pm If they are all the same price, then its not a real polyurethane waterproofing membrane - a real poly would be drastically more expensive. It will be a water based polymer which will do the job better and last longer than a bitumen based paint on waterproofing. Normally you use builders bog. Polyurethane painting is basically the same principle as car panel beating and painting. All the prep work is the same and so is the… 3 2694 id suggest getting an engineer to give you an opinion rather than a builder. 1 11872 DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Grind texture and paint off at blister up to top of fence Will see damp cement render 5 3754 |
