Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 24, 2011 4:59 pm We are looking at buying a new block to build on. Have O/B 3 times before. Albeit these were all on near level land. This block whilst relatively has a part which falls away by about 1.5 metres. Some of this falls under one side of where we would be situating the house. The house would be built on a waffle pod slab. Does anyone have any knowledge in regards to using waffle pods with piers, and if so what type of spacings and locations would they have to be in. Also are they able to be placed directly under the foundation. Whilst I am familiar with waffle pods I am unfamiliar with piers etc. Thanks for any help. I've seen some designs with internal piers at every 2400mm (every second pod intersection) on filled sections of the site. The Soil classification has little to do with piers. The purpose of the classing of the soil is to identify the clay content and the "average expected range of movement… 2 9816 How good is Simeon?! Always taking time to help others out!
