Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 16, 2011 7:18 pm Hi everyone, After moving into new house in 2007 had nothing but troubles with blocked toilets, showeres etc. Ended up getting pipe inspection and builder paying for 2x pipe relines 2010 as rubber couplings had become dislodged during slab pouring this also picked up poor backfilling as 2 sections of pipe are crushed down to 60mm and another "y" peice also had become dislodged. After the pipe relines on straight sections as they are unable to reline a intersection i am now having troubles again. Has anyone has their slab cut to do sewer line repairs? Over last 3 years water has been going under house as 2x joins had shifted approx 30mm before relines were done what effect would this have on ground? Should i expect builder to pay for new tiling if this requires lifting to cut slab? Would an engineer be required to check slab repair once cut? d Regards Dean Re: Sewer repairs 2Oct 16, 2011 7:45 pm Imho if the slab needs to be cut to access the sewer lines, then the tiling etc would need to be restored to how it was before this work was done. Take 'before' photos now so there are no arguments. Think a phone call to Vcat to get correct info would be a good idea too, get them involved now in case there are any problems along the way. Good luck......sounds messy (in more ways than one!!) Re: Sewer repairs 3Oct 16, 2011 9:06 pm Thanks and yes it does and will be, but finally time to get it fixed good and proper if only a stupid incompotent plumber had done his job correctly in the first place/ area around main sewer connection is still dropping as it was dug down around 2.5 meters and not backfilled correctly this was 4 years ago! I also had to repair bath myself as it was not supported correctly and am sick and tired of dealing with lazy useless tradespersons. Dont get me started with the rest of the house. Thanks Dean Does anyone have a suggestion for a good hydronic in slab heating speacialist who may be able to help me with an existing system and wether or not it may need a seperator… 0 4870 Hi everyone, Looking for some advise.
