Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 04, 2008 9:03 pm Hi all, hoping you can help!
We're building with a volume builder and are about to sign contracts and oh by the way they've realised our next door neighbour has a garage on the boundry line and if we build 1m from the boundry we need underpinning (fills us with confidence that they know how to read a site survey after having it for 6 months ) Their verbal estimate is around $17k plus retaining walls. They're conducting some probe thingy to get a firm cost. A builder friend of ours says no more than $5k. The alternative option they've given is to move the house across another metre (so it will be 2m from boundry) but we loose some precious garden aspect to the living area on the other side of the home. So we're weighing up our options. Can anyone help on the costs? Cheers. Thunder1 I am not sure whether Perth has its own way of doing things in regards to this. Most of Perth has class A (sandy soil), except for some areas near rivers or hills. 2 8270 Looking to tile the facade pillars rather than rendering.
