Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 05, 2011 8:41 am Did you know that if you install a solar hot water system you can assign your STCs and get at least $500 depending on where you live and what model/size tank etc. you have? You need to claim within 12 months of the system being installed. I couldn't find out much about it so after searching around on the net came across Target Zero - they are an agent able to sell the STCs on my behalf. Just thought I'd remind people as it's one of the things that got left off my list during the building process .... Re: Solar Hot Water - claim your STCs 5Oct 05, 2011 9:54 am The builder provided me with a copy of the certificate of compliance which lists the date of installation and who installed it. I then had to contact the supplier to get model numbers etc. to complete the form. Re: Solar Hot Water - claim your STCs 6Oct 05, 2011 11:45 am Thanks for that (don't think my builder gave me my CofC but they are useless so that's not surprising). So can you take me through the process; you found Target Zero, you give your STC's to them to sell (I guess by filling in the form you are referring to), they give you the money and that's it? I looked at the ORER website and it's very confusing! Thanks in advance Re: Solar Hot Water - claim your STCs 7Oct 05, 2011 11:49 am Yes it is tricky! Apparently there are a number of "agents" who can sell them on your behalf and the current rate from Target Zero is $25/STC - apparently the price is market driven so can change. I got all the information and filled out the form and sent it off to them today.
