Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Sep 22, 2011 4:00 pm we have recently looked at a house for sale that was built in the 1960 or maybe 1950s The exterior wall cladding looks like weatherboard but is clearly a board that is 3 weatherboards high and is held by flat nails which are all clearly visible. Neighbouring houses appear to have the same material at first sight. It has a few layers of paint on it and is hard to judge any original surface. When tapped it "sounds" like wood rather than cement sheet or metal and in one place at least has a small jagged crack that goes for about 10-15 cms. The crack also looks like a wood-type break. Any suggestions as to its composition or name?
