We are not cutting into the the block at all, we are building up. One side of the house will be at natural ground level and the sand pad will be a little over a metre off the ground on the other side of the house. We don't need to use any rock pitching/retaining walls where the sandpad is less than 1m off the ground and the sand can just slope down but on the parts of the sandpad that are over 1m high the builder has stated that stone pitching is required. This pic might help - the dark shading at the top of the pic is where the rock pitching/retaining is needed. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The elevations show it better. The retaining is needed on the left hand side of elevation 3 and right across elevation 4 http://i1103.photobucket.com/albums/g476/soakedblonde/Elevations.jpg Our custom Gemmill Home in Bedfordale WA Build thread:https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53788 Timeline on page 1 Thanks for your reply! All valid points and I agree with you on many of them. I am in QLD, any recommendations on a construction lawyer would be helpful 3 2654 Thank you again Simeon.. I will call my certifier for that.
