Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Sep 06, 2011 12:30 pm We're renovating our kitchen, it's sched for mid Sep so it's really close ! We found - when we were looking for a suitable sin mixer/tap - that our hot water system (ie an old system where the tank sits in the roof !) may need replacing. My husb likes the Instantaneous system but given that we live in a block of units, and the gas meter is about 2 units away from our unit (approx 30 metres!) we most likely will need to get the one with storage tank. We went to a tap ware centre, they sell sink mixer/tap that suits suits gravity fed/low pressure system. They advised that they also have bathroom mixer that will work fine with gravity fed/low pressure system. Question : What's your view on whether it's better for us to replace the hot water system now (ie before the new kitchen goes in) or do that after the kitchen is in (we also need to do our floorings when the kitchen is done !). My husb is more inclined to postpone replacing the hot water system ("if it aint broken, why fix it ?" kind of attitude) While I think it's better to get it done now, so when it's time to reno the bathroom (we have some plan to reno the bathroom, perhaps next year) then the proper system is already there (my husb's argument : a suitable bathroom mixer is available anyway!) Another question : What brand of the gas hot water system would you recommend ? Rinnai, Rheem or ??? Many thanks ! Re: Gas Hot Water System-Would appreciate your views/opinion 2Sep 06, 2011 3:13 pm Are you sure that the tank on top is a gravity fed system ? I thought it was connected to the mains water pipe. You do have gas in your unit don't you - heating, stove ?
