Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 31, 2011 10:18 pm Hi folks We put an item up on eBay yesterday, but my partner inadvertently listed it as a 'classified' as opposed to the standard auction ( ). We have been made an offer but not sure what the 'deal' is with a classified ad. How does it work? Are we able to accept an offer before the end of the date that we specified or are we meant to leave the ad up for the duration and then accept best offer at the end? Just don't want to do the wrong thing by accepting this offer (if we decide to) and removing the ad. They don't seem to have made the offer via the 'make an offer' section on the item - they have just sent an email asking if we will accept the price (mind you, we mentioned we had more than one and he has offered to buy the lot so maybe that is why he emailed....... but just don't want to breach the rules without realising). Can anyone offer any help? Thanks. Re: Question re eBay 3Aug 31, 2011 10:35 pm thanks cmhamilton - very nice of you to find that and paste the info for me. I did actually find the info I needed - if you put it in as a classified 'with best offer' then my understanding is that the transaction does go through eBay (or did I misread that). Anyway, I got the info I needed - which is in theory, you leave your ad up and people make an offer and you can then accept which offer you want. But it doesn't say anything about not being able to accept an offer beforehand and/or removing your ad if you have accepted an offer. Thanks again... query solved Re: Question re eBay 4Aug 31, 2011 10:44 pm I found some more actually - check out the second link... You can really use anything you want the main consideration would be how it looks once painted/finished - or the look you want. Cabinetmakers use MDF because its cheap… 2 9959 I would say both styles you have pictured are steel. The lower chord of the first pic would be a massive lump if made using timber considering the size of the rafters. If… 1 6150 1 13123 |
