A Bachelor of Building is significantly more than either of these, as long as it was obtained in Australia, as you need to know Australian Building Standards. Like B star said I would try talking to them again. However, doing the Cert V probably wouldn't take that long anyway, as with RPL, you would probably find that you don't have to do a lot of the subjects. If they say you do still need it talk to Holmsglen or HIA. They have the course over 26 weeks. Show them your results and see what credits you get.
