Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 28, 2011 9:47 pm Hi, I am new to this forum and hopefully haven't put this in the wrong place. We have a balcony constructed of timber. The bearers are 190x45's and I wish to extend the balcony construction out from the house about 700mm further than it already is. This will make the bearers run past the last beam by 1080mm. Is there some standard that needs to be adhered to in regards to how far they can go past the beam? I would assume so as it is a safety issue being a balcony. You may require more info from me to let me know or give any indication but any help would be appreciated. Regards Steve First time building 2 storey home in NSW.
