It has been raining quite a bit here in Perth recently and I am starting to notice damp spots (fairly large) on the wall(WEST side) and also something that looks like a white fungus. Is this something I should be going back to the builder about?? Or do I have to tackle the problem myself.... The wall on this side of the property is 4-5 courses of brick lower than the next property but I would have thought that the builder would have taken this into account. Fairly common especially with new bricks/pavers. It should just brush off. Given that it is a garage I am thinking that it is just single brick construction. So it may be some damp coming through especially if that is on the weather side. Clay bricks are fairly porous. Not sure about the building regs regarding this but I did'nt think garages had to have a damp course but I could be wrong. Hopefully someone else can help you out with that.
