I want to rip up carpets and polish the floorboards underneath.
I have found a tradesman to polish the floorboards via a word of mouth recommendation, but he doesn't rip up the carpets.
Can anyone please suggest how I could find someone to rip up the carpets? (Doing it myself is not an option)
I am in Sydney

There's no great skill required, unless you are keeping some of the carpets and need the raw edge to be finished properly.
Any handyman should be able to do it. They will also need to remove the smooth-edge from the perimeter of the room/s. Care needs to be taken here, as there are a lot of sharp nails.

Anyone doing this should fully understand any potential health risks.
Personal Protective Equipment should be worn. (P2 face mask, overalls, gloves etc) Beware of sharp edges (tacks on smooth-edge, stray stanley blades left on underlay by layers etc)
Old carpets should be handled and disposed of responsibly.
If you are hiring someone yourself (other than a professional contractor) you may be liable for any injury.

Ring up a builder, ask him if he has a labourer and a spare day sometime to rip it up - anyday
I had a pile of plaster that I was just to stuffed to move - so I did as per above
Carton of beer and it was gone
Most builders like to have a stream of work for their labourers - so a anytime time job slips right in very easy.
