Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 19, 2011 12:48 pm Hi, currently in the proces of having plans drawn up for a duplex in the Revesby Heights area (Bankstown Council) our block has a slight slope to the rear and therefore we have been told that we are required to contact our two rear neighbours regarding an easement through there property. Preferably we would prefer them to say 'no' regarding a stormwater easement as bankstown council will then allow us the alternative method to pump it up, however no one is able to tell me what is required in regards to me approaching the neighbours and requesting an easement. Do i need to contact a solictor, surveyor or valuer? or is it as simple as knocking on the neighbours door and asking them? all advice is much appreciated kind regards Gabriel Re: Bankstown Council, how to approach neighbours for easeme 2Aug 19, 2011 12:52 pm I would think it would be better to have a solicitor / conveyancor do up a legal letter. I know when we approach our neighbour to have an easement extinguished that was how we approached it. Our conveyancor did a legal letter requesting their approval. We included our contact details so the neighbour could phone us in need. We also advised them that we would pay for all legal costs involved in the action - theirs included. Some things are worth waiting for. You should be able to encase the sewer but you will need it designed and approved and access to lot 580 to do the work 2 17163 You might be able to apply to divert the sewer at your expense. In NSW you would contact a Water services co-ordinator and they would give you advice as to whether or not… 1 16146 Thanks - yea sounds like I need to submit build over easement application....ugh guess I better start finding someone who can do the engineering drawings 3 3364 |
