Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 19, 2011 12:38 pm Have you got silicone or no more gaps where architraves/skirting boards meet walls? What colour is it? Is it matched to the colour of walls or architraves/skirting boards? Re: Where architraves / skirting boards meet walls 3Aug 19, 2011 12:59 pm Thank you kyton What colour are they? Re: Where architraves / skirting boards meet walls 7Aug 21, 2011 5:03 pm Hi, you need to use an acrylic filler i.e. No mor gaps, as it is paintable whereas silicone is not. It is also easier to use, simply run it in then clean it up with a wet sponge. If you are going for a clear finish, seal arch's and skirts first, then caulk and paint to match walls. Re: Where architraves / skirting boards meet walls 8Aug 21, 2011 9:37 pm Darren, should no more gaps also be used where tiles meet architraves? Re: Where architraves / skirting boards meet walls 9Aug 22, 2011 8:00 am Sorry it's a 'colours' thing, is arch painted or bare? If painted you could use the same colour sealant as tile to bench top (kitchen) or if timber is raw, run with the gap filler Re: Where architraves / skirting boards meet walls 10Aug 22, 2011 10:00 am Cheers for that. The arch is currently bare but will be painted. Re: Where architraves / skirting boards meet walls 11Aug 22, 2011 11:46 pm No worries, just a damp sponge or rag to clean it up btw, not wringing wet, don't be scared to go over it a few times, cleaning sponge each time, You will surprise yourself! Good luck Building Standards; Getting It Right! Is this acceptable in a new house build. Floors where installed by builder. Already chips in board and skirting is not flush 0 193 I do like the CA glue and activator idea but like you said, working time in non existent.
