We have problems in our house with dampness/mould growing. I heard on the radio a handyman claiming that most dampness problems in houses are due to the space under the house not being well ventilated (which then causes the dampness to seep upwards through the floorboards).
Our house is pretty old (built in 1920’s) with a solid sandstone foundation. Although there are some vents in the sandstone to allow some air under the house these are pretty small. Does anyone know if this could be the cause of our mould issue? How do you rectify this? Do any professionals specialize in this?
