Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 02, 2011 8:31 pm H everyone, I'm a new poster and wanted to ask about bathroom tiling. We are owner building our Queenslander and my husband wanted to tile to the ceiling, but as its not really a feature of the style of home we are building, I think this is a waste and overkill. We are looking at the wall tiles in a brick pattern with a featured colour tile (or lip) around the top edge. either chair or picture rail height. Is tiling to the ceiling necessary, in any style of home? It is alot more expensive and not really in keeping with the design we are doing... I would love to read your thoughts.... Michelle Re: Tiling Question 2Aug 02, 2011 8:35 pm My personal opinion is that he will be losing the integrity and character of the 'Queenslander' It's fine to renovate and add some modern touches but that sounds to me like it would not fit well with that style of house. Of course if you had some pictures to post opinions might change. Re: Tiling Question 3Aug 02, 2011 8:38 pm I agree with you and he does now as well....we are trying to keep the house "country" and Qldlander, so the style is tiling to a chair or picture rail height with the coloured border tiles around the top edge...and the diamond pattern on the floor.... Looking to tile the facade pillars rather than rendering. Builder is quoting 2500$ laying cost for upto 10msq. The 2 pillars come to be 16msq. So laying costs are 5000$… 0 7546 Hi, I'm clearing the tiles from our horrid 50 year old bathroom and preparing to lay new ones. Bugger of a job getting the old… 0 8088 4 14463 |
