Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jul 30, 2011 5:57 pm After 18 months of headaches, stress, grey hairs, sleep deprivation, arguments with the builder and the neighbours from hell, I'm happy to report we're at handover stage and should be getting our keys within the next 2-3 weeks. We're also due for an inspection prior to the final payment, and I'm just wondering if those with greater experience can advise on what to look out for during that inspection - what we need to be aware of, what we should be cautious of, etc. Obviously we'll be on the lookout for any internal and external "errors" on the house, but would appreciate a heads up on any points we should potentially raise with the manager. Re: Points to raise during inspection 3Jul 31, 2011 8:44 am If you are unsure yourself of everything you need to keep an eye out for (and to be honest most people are) then it might be an idea to consider getting an independent inspector to come along if you have the extra cash to hire one. I'm not saying that it is strictly necessary, but it does give that little extra peace of mind especially if you suspect there may be some things which need looking at.
