Naa - That happened my birthday before last and frankly I woke up that morning going - something is not right - then I saw why I felt that way - but hey - if we all walked around thinking I'm going to die tomorrow - or a tidal wave might get me - what is the world coming to :shock:

Live and enjoy - and if something happens - tidal wave or otherwise - at least we were enjoying the moment

I meant cabinfever …but hey, you’re right.

My mum died in a plane crash…never stopped me flying around the world!!!!
If we let stuff like that get our way we would never walk out our doors!

Just sit in out home and wait for the white ants to eat us out! :lol:

The Maldives, and the glass-floor resort you mentioned, are to me are just like sleeping with a large anvil tied over your bed. I simply couldn't relax. And that would apply even before the tsunami. I mustjust be nervy about such things.

But the turrets ! Love 'em. Show me a single large scale builder who offers anything even remotely like that. I reckon about 99% of builders in this country offer houses that are, in all but the details, absolutely identical. To distract you from the mind-numbing sameness they distract you with 200 inconsequential choices of subtle tonal variations. Modern marketing...

This is a very interesting talk about "choice and freedom". Quite funny too !

Cabinfever…. I agree…..the homes now are so alike.
I get very uninterested in them and hate it when someone brings me one to work with!

Whatever happened to the little cottage…..so much more interesting to work with!

Nothing against bee mers or the cars they used to be.

And totally agree re houses - all too similar - but hey - nothing is easier than a trend - one way or the other. Environmental houses will be the nor in 10 year time - get with it now.

AND
I still think that a tidal wave in any country is a very rare potential event - and everyone would be better to think and do something about the food they feed their mind and body with - than worry about a tidal wave.

Dunno what's up with the ad, definitely nothing to do with the video. It's quite a thoughful piece.

As for tsunamis, I suppose it's like some people hate flying. Surprising how many people have an illogical (based on the statistics) fear of flying. There's much more chance of injury in the taxi on the way to the airport.

I used to have lots of tidal wave dreams, but no one start to get Freudian please :wink:

ps: And thanks Al for posting the pics. I've seen those islands from orbital images, but never up close. Very interesting indeed.

Yep some people do - and I'm going up in an ultralight tomorrow - so if you don;t hear from me again - You'll all know what happened......

Better to go enjoying yourself than quietly like poor old Heath did I say.

DeeElle, that's amazing. You'd think they would have returned better off financially, but then again, living in Dubai might well be deceptively cheap-looking. You never know, do you?

I agree .. actually we have had two couples who have gone to Dubai and returned in a similar situation. Not sure why but both thought it was due to the expensive lifestyle. One was a pilot and another a doctor so their income and benefits were pretty good I imagine.

They told us you have to be very disciplined as it is easy to buy nice things and blow the budget.
