It could obviously be an aesthetic issue if you've got a chip on your garage crossover, but the ones around the edges will be covered by frame and brick/cement sheet anyway. I presume the plumbing has been put there for a reason, and don't think it'll be an issue either, but i don't know. The exposed edges (i.e. alfresco, porch, and gararge) I think are all okay but will double check. The plumbing you are probably right but even if it's okay as far as the pipe/slab are concerned it may then be in the way of the where they have to lay the frame?? will have to check. Does the frame have a a post along all of the perimeter? Re: slab down - is this work okay. 5Jul 07, 2011 9:34 am kdgirl, we had a pipe in the exact same position as yours where it was not completely encased in the slab. I didn't bring it up with my SS but the builder next door came around to have a look and said its fine. The frame went on the inside if the pipe so this was not an issue. I also had an independent inspector go through before plaster went on and he did not bring it up. Building the Benham with Rawson Homes in Western Sydney. My only concern now is that looking at the plans i think that there should have been two. I have asked the SS to check this. It will be OK, except that 3 studs are right there, and it seems that 2 of them will also need to be cut out (but hopefully only 1). I would just make sure that they "replicate" those studs very close by, on the other side of the pipe, and also on the other side of the stud (but this really depends on what the studs are carrying exactly, ie. what's sitting on these studs).
