Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 13, 2011 11:37 pm Hi, New to this forum so if posting in wrong place please let me know. We are renovating a single garage joined to house as a second living area. Have just removed garage door, fitted glass sliding door, removed skirting and almost finished painting. looking at tiling the whole area which is 6m by 3m and then also a seperate laundry off there which is 2m by 2m, in a 400 tile. walls will be neutral taupe colour and tiles off white glossy. Tiler suggested skirting tiled? is this the norm now rather than timber skirting. Rest of house is timber skirting. Suggestions as to wether tile skirting in laundry and timber skirting this small extra living space? Thanks. Tiled skirting in living area? the norm or only in bathrooms 2Jun 14, 2011 7:25 am For me a tiled skirting only looks good in a wet area. All our ensuites, powder rooms and laundry have them where they look great. But I would still have the timber skirt in a living area. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Tiled skirting in living area? the norm or only in bathr 4Jun 14, 2011 7:33 pm Thanku to you both for you reply, i am definetely going to go with timber skirt in converted living space then, as said keeps in with rest of house and cheaper than tiling, considering still wether to do it in laundry? maybe ? in laundry is a tub, washer and a toilet, just a small space but maybe worth doing tile skirt. will keep considering, thanks for reading and replying. It is all about personal preferences but I thought at the time it looked a bit 'commercial'.
