Hi
Our boards (Tassie Oak) were layed in January then polished in April. We have just started having cracking between the boards. At first it as only a couple but now it is much worse. Most cracks are about 2m long and they are happening roughly every 3-5 boards. I believe it is because the heater is causing them to shrink. The thing is I have other friends who have reasonably new boards (in the last 1 or 2 years) and they haven't had this problem.
The builder is coming out with the floorboard rep on Tuesday morning but I would like to have some information of my own. We have had a good relationship with the builder so hopefully that will help.
Here is an example of one of the cracks. I have laid a toothpick next to it to give an indication of its width.

So.....
Is this common?
Do you just have to put up with it?
If not what can be done about it?
I am so over all of this LOL. Just when you think its all finished something like this happens.
Thanks
Donna
