Hi folks
We are toying with the idea of trying to add some extra cupboard space to our kitchen. There are a couple of possibilities we could go with if we decided to. Only thing is, we would need to try and match the existing cabinets as the last thing we want to do is have to replace them all (even if it just replacing the fronts).
We are about to have a dispute with our builder (owner builder) so we don't want to even attempt to ask them who made the cabinets. They could very well be flat pack - unsure.
So, I am just looking for ideas on how we can go about finding a match for them. Is there a way to determine if they are flat pack? Could even be Ikea or Bunnings? Any tell tale signs that we can check to determine where they could be from (if they are flat pack variety).
Or.... if they were made by a cabinet maker, would generally any cabinet maker be able to match an existing finish (ie, are they all pretty familiar with the different finishes and colours)??
FWIW, they are a high gloss white - possibly laminate - or not (I'm so out of touch with the various finishes that it could be anything?) It's definitely not painted, and it's definitely not solid timber - it is some kind of veneer finishOf course there are 100 shades of white though so we don't just want to get what we 'think' matches and then find when they are up that they are a different shade to the rest.
Any thoughts??
Thanks.
