Folks,
I am IT Professional working as a Software Engineer. I am 30 now, planning to change my career to become a licence Builder.
Sorry if it is a silly question or if somebody had asked the same question before.
I have done bit of research on “How to become a licensed Builder in Victoria” all roads are leading to Apprenticeship.
I have kept 3 to 4 years of transition period. I want to retire as IT professional at the age of 35 and start new career which I am passionate about i.e. Building homes & Sell.
I have made couple of calls to find Apprenticeship Part time and study relevant course while I am working in IT for next 3 to 4 years at least, but never got any positive response.
1. Is there any course that leads to “Licensed Builder” without experience in building and construction? Uni Course or TAFE Course?
2. Is it possible to work as a part time Apprentice during weekends and study certificate IV in Building and Construction to become licence Builder?
3. Is there any other way of becoming Licence Builder?
I really want to get as much as practical and theoretical experience before I switch over my career path.
Much appreciate your valuable time, comments & suggestions. Many thanks for your time.
