Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 24, 2011 8:31 am Hi. I am wondering what people are using to keep themselves or their kids warm during the cold winter nights? My 19 month old boy always gets out of his blankets and I want to make sure he is warm enough. He wears fleece jumpsuits and is in a sleeping bag, and we have an oil heater on all night, but I am concerned about the safety and cost of running a heater like this every night. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Re: Single room heating 2May 28, 2011 10:13 pm Thats a tricky one as most heaters that run all night would reflect on your power bill. I assume you are talking about portable heating? I hear the most energy efficient heating are panel heaters. I have seen many different models down at the local Bunnings store. As far as safety with running them all night goes, I am not certain but I would definitely stay away from heaters with a fan as this normally suggests there is a element in the heater. I would also get one with a thermostat and or a timer so the heater might continually turn off and on during the night as opposed to running constantly. Be aware of the issue of kids burning themselves if your child might get up during the night and touch the heater. Hello All π We are planning to start our journey of construction our first home.
