Hi all. Just want to know people's thoughts on my problem.
I'm halfway through building an architecturally designed home with a small builder, with the architect supervising the build. I've recently had materials arrive on site that have an obvious design flaw. The materials were made as per the architects specifications, so effectively it is a stuff up by the architect. The builder has spent the last 2 days correcting this, which was much quicker and cheaper than replacing the materials. The builder has told me that it is going to cost an extra $6k for these changes.
I'm paying a lot of money for the architect and I'm a bit frustrated that it's going to cost me $6k for their mistake. Can I dispute it?
